Pastimes of Ganesh Chaturthi no. 6

This is an exclusive Pastime of Lord Ganesh and Katikeya, just go through and enjoy.

Ganesha had a brother named Kartikeya. Ganesha was very gentle mood and clever while Kartikeya was very short tempered, two of them used to play in the mountains and sometimes they used to quarrel. Once they had a big quarrel and each of them thought that the other was guilty.

The question could not be settled. Finally they quickly approached their parents for justice. Lord Shiva and Parvati heard both sides, then lord Shiva had an idea "children", he said to them, "Let we deal in this way that you go around the world and whoever comes first will be considered the law of the other wrong! Do you agree?"

"Yes, yes! Approved both. Kartikeya always rode a peacock and it was all very fast while Ganesha used a small rat for riding. Kartikeya was sure he would win the race because his peacock was much faster than rat. Kartikeya immidiately jumped on his peacock and went quickly as he could.

Ganesha first had a look at her big belly and her little rat. He was sure he could never win the race. Then Kartikeya was already far away with his peacock and Ganesha just sitting there thinking and suddenly he had a bright idea. He made Lord Shiva and Parvati Mata sit together and quickly went around three times.

Soon.Kartikeya came on his peacock after successfully traveled the world and embarrassed Shiva-Parvati said proudly: "I'm here! That I won and looked Ganesha "No," said Ganesha, firmly, "our parents are the mother and father of the world, even going around them is just like going around the world!

I did it three times, but you did once and that makes me the winner! And Ganesha looked to Lord Shiva and Parvati, "Am I right or wrong?" He asked.

"Ganesha is right," said Parvati Kartikeya, "he won the race!" Hearing that Kartikeya lost his composure and thought that the mother had a weakness for Ganesha.

In a turn of anger, he took an oath, "I shall neither look at my mother nor any woman's face in the world!" And Kartikeya kept his word, he never looked at the faces of all women in the world. So, in many temples of Kartikeya, women are allowed to enter.
